The 100 Pound DXpedition to Hawaii

This trip, because it is much longer than the others I’ve taken and because we were making several stops, was not one of my typical DXpeditions. I was not concentrating on the radio stuff that time; I was planning a family vacation! Still, one can’t go three plus weeks and to an exotic location like Hawaii without at least trying to put some QSOs in the log.

Instead of bringing 100 pounds of gear, this trip’s total is closer to 50 pounds: 38 pounds in a Pelican 1510 case and about 12 pounds of additional gear packed separately. Not included in the total was computer equipment, headset (Heil Traveler Dual), and an antenna analyzer.
